She was born June 17, 1929, in Choctaw County. Mrs. Allen was a childcare worker and member of Wood Springs Baptist Church. She died March 20, 2012, at her residence near Ackerman. Kenneth W. Coleman March 19, 2012 Services for Kenneth W. Coleman, 77, of Dover, Tenn., were March 23, 2012, at Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman with the Rev. Jerry Lawson officiating. Burial was in Enon Cemetery. He was born Feb. 11, 1935, in Choctaw County. Mr. Coleman was an electric inspector. He died March 19, 2012, in Nashville, Tenn. Survivors include Anthony Coleman of Birmingham, Ala., Brian Coleman of Dover and Kenneth James Coleman of Indiana; two brothers, Alvin Coleman and William F. Stanley B. Hill March 19, 2012 Services for Stanley B. Hill, 47, of Eupora were March 24, 2012, at Gibson Street Church of God in Eupora with Overseer Burt Richardson officiating. Burial was in North Union Cemetery near Bellefontaine. Mr. Hill died March 19, 2012, in Eupora. Survivors include his mother, Catherine Hill of Eupora; two brothers, Bobby Hill and Jeryl Hill of Eupora; and two sisters, Shirley Hill of Kuwait and Andrea Culpepper of Clinton. Maston Levi Prewitt March 22, 2012 Services for the Rev. Maston Levi Prewitt, 87, of Eupora were March 24, 2012, at Lebanon United Methodist Church with the Revs. Trey Harper, Jeep Pepper, Dole Ray Mitchell and Riley Richter officiating. An internment memorial service followed at Adaton United Methodist Church with the Revs. Buddy Blyiss, John Yeates, Jerrold Gammill and Byrd Hillman officiating He was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Choctaw County to the late William and China Ray Prewitt. The Rev. Prewitt served his country in World War II and was a POW in Germany. He was a United Methodist minister in Mississippi for more than 50 years. The Rev. Prewitt died March 22, 2012, at his home after a stroke and repeated hospital stays resulting from pneumonia. Survivors include his wife, Viola Prewitt; two sons, Steven Prewitt and Nathan Prewitt; four daughters, Gloria Warren, Rebecca Doyle, Barbara Bennett and Rachel Blankenship; three sisters, Opal Smith, Mildred Andol and Martha Crimm; 15 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Pallbearers were the Rev. Prewitt’s grandchildren: Johnathon Prewitt, Adam Prewitt, Jay Prewitt, Kelly Blankenship, Josh Prewitt, Wes Cummings, Chesley Warren, Chris Henry and Tim Blankenship. Mrs. Jean Shurden, 82, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo in Tupelo, MS. Visitation was at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21 at the Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, MS. Funeral services were Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Blythe Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bryant, and Rev. Mike Fondren officiating. Interment was at Blythe Creek Cemetery at Choctaw Co. MS. Mrs. Shurden was a homemaker and a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church at Choctaw Co. MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert L. Shurden; grandson, Chuck Shurden; and great-grandson, Matt Vaughn. Survivors include 1 daughter, Patsy (Doug) Dodd, Mathiston, MS; 3 sons, Sheryl (Gail) Shurden, Howard (Polly) Shurden both of Mathiston, MS, Hugh (Barbara) Shurden, Kosciusko, MS; 1 sister, Bobbie Jo (Ralph) Novak, Lincoln, CA; 8 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren. Mr. Lawrence (L.W.) Sullivan

Mr. Lawrence (L.W.) Sullivan was born on July 30, 1950 to Mrs. Lemmie Mays Sullivan and Mr. L.P. Sullivan. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services were Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Andrew E. Windrick was the officiating minister with interment in Eupora Churchill Cemetery in Eupora, MS. L.W. was preceded in death by mother and father, L.P. and Lemmie Sullivan; and sister, Maddie. He met and married Beatrice Sudduth in 1996 and to this union no children were born. L.W. joined Mount Union Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He enjoyed gardening and doing a variety of farming. His family was his pride and joy. L.W. will be greatly missed but never forgotten by those who shared his love and brought joy into his heart.
